Gamer-style

My SL friends constantly accuse me of dressing in Lara Croft style. I’m not quite sure I understand what they’re on about, but they’re pretty insistent about it. In my opinion, the style I’m sporting below could be considered a little on the Crofty side. A fitting look to crawl about some of the urban role playing sims, even just to observe.

The look starts with a House of Hucci’s fur bomb, which is conveniently a prim attachment, not to mention easily sizeable and customizable. Layered under is a unique vest from Pig. Held together by a safety pin. These are layered over a new hoodie from Miel Mo (sans hoodie attachment). On the bottom is a great, simple (and very short) mini from Luck. Paired up with Miel’s refurbished socks in maroon. (Yes, I paid extra for the holes and runs.)

Go get your game on.

One of my favorite blouses from LeeZu Baxter…the Valerie blouse. So pretty and girly with its fluttery neckline and sheerness. Shown here with new rolled up pants in gold from Worldwide Industries. Sweater Vest

Sweater Vest

You. Your sex is on fire.  And so were the words to transpire. Hot as a fever. Rattling bones. I could just taste it. Taste it. - King of Leons

I’m feeling quite inspired again to blog. (I know, about bloody time. Yay!) Tyranny Designs (TD) is quickly becoming a favorite store of mine. Tyr Rozenblum’s designs are quirky and sexy with unexpected patterns and textures. (I want it all! Woof!) The sweater vest, which is rich in texture,  is from TD. It’s available in a palette of urban colors to layer and mix.  The fat pack is totally worth it just for the layering possibilities alone. TD’s store is a bit of a mess at the moment as they’re under a major store re-build. I’ve paired it up with quite possibly the most perfect faded blue jeans in my closet from League.

The cute bun hair style is available from Fri.day. (It’s available with bangs as well.) My first experience with Fri.day came the other day. From what I saw, it’s a great place for layering and basic clothing pieces. The few hair styles they have are textured and are very well done.

Stillness of Heart

Stillness of Heart

–All that I want is stillness of heart so I can start to find my way out of the dark and into your heart. –Lenny Kravitz

A new release of leather from Coco for the fall and winter and this black leather jacket is gorgeous to the point of me saying “unf.” Clothing like this makes me feel inspired to blog again when looking gorgeous is effortless. (I know yesterday I was complaining about having 49k in inventory and nothing to wear. Hush.)

This jacket is both arousing and deadly when combined with Linc’s mesh top and beige striped low rise mini jeans skirt. Add in the slinky spice of Bax’s tall black boots (shown with and without top cuff) and look out.

Funky Butterflies

August 27, 2009

Funky Butterflies

I’ve just been in a funky mood lately clothing-wise. While I was waiting for a super-cute lucky board dress at shirohato, I shopped. Of course I’m gonna shop. I mean, how can I NOT shop? Get a grip.

At shirohato, they have these quirky clothes dirt cheap. I don’t wait for many lucky boards/chairs because I’m the type of person who stands in front of the microwave and says, “What is that like an entire minute? I don’t have a minute. Get on with it!” Yeah, I’m an impatient fuck. It’s a fact. As I was waiting for the characters 0-9 to pass on the lucky BORED (WTF?), I started using the tiny shop as my personal dressing room. Oh, like you haven’t done that when no one’s about. (Yeah, so there was this blue unicorn in the corner, but I’m sure he/she were not paying any mind. Besides, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t his/her type.)

Typically I’m not a fan of patterns on tops that look like they’re gripping my lady berries. However, this satin, handpainted jacket from shirohato was hard to resist. (Umm, hello, $40?!) I paired it up funky-like with the pants from the Urban outfit from Acid & Mala Creations and Naive’s brand new falling-down socks. I cannot get enough of those socks. (Psst, get the fat pack.) The great thing about them is that they don’t use the same attachment points as the cuffs. Yay! Attachment points can suck it.

The hair and hat combo is from Shop Seu. My PhotoShop skills completely butchered the sweet fuzzy/furriness of it, so use your imagination. I just wish it came in another color other than blond. Back in my early days, I used to be a blond, but grew tired of always shopping for blond textures. Trainers are expensive unisexy goodness from hoorenbeek. Oh, and I hate to tell you this, but you’re on your own with the hip chain. In one of my daily exploits of the grid, I found it. It’s from a shop called Gypsy Moon. However, the last time I was there, I couldn’t find it. I promise I’ll keep searching for it and update this post if I do. (Hey at least I’m not dangling Last Call yummeh’s in your face sayin, “Lookie here, pre-2007 bishes. You can’t haaaave. Neener”)

Oh, and despite spending a good 40 minutes last night, I still haven’t scored that cutie freebie dress. Someone hollah if you see the letter “H” at shirohato.

Boy’s Closet, Again

August 20, 2009

Boy’s Closet, Again!

Here’s my interpretation of this fall’s biggest look, the boyfriend. Taking capris from The Closet which might be a smidge too short to be called traditional boyfriend jeans, which are typically looser in the legs, and have rolled-up cuffs a bit because hey, your guy is usually bigger and taller than you, right?

The jacket is a new release from Pink Outfitters and is called the Little Brother Blazer. Cute, short, hand painted and best of all, inexpensive. Comes in a few colors. My advice, get ‘em all. I’ve thrown it over Atomic’s off-the-shoulder funky graphic t-shirt. With its waist ties (stomach attach), it’s cute on its own.

Heels from Maitreya, along with simple jewelry from chuchulet and Bliensen, offset the boyish charm of the razored hair from Truth and the overall look.

Thinking About Fall

Thinking About Fall

In the “summer that never happened” for me, I’m starting to think a little bit about fall. Digging deep in my virtual closet I came out with this simple chocolate mid-thigh skirt by SLink. I remember purchasing the fat pack of these a long time ago. (Maybe 2 years ago? I hope they still sell them. Bad blogger, bad.) The skirt’s two-button, a-line simplicity can’t be beat and they come in lots of colors.

Also unearthed from the closet of doom is Nylon Outfitters beaded sweater. This sweater is a deal because for the price of one, you get two colors and layers with a tank and without a tank (not shown). Layered under the sweater are Maitreya’s Savoir turtle neck and Kookie’s tank top. I had to work a little attachment point wizardry to get Miel Mo’s pretty corsage (chest) and the turtle neck (spine) to cooperate, but if you don’t feel like messing with it, I’ve provided a picture without the turtleneck on the left.

New (to me) and very unique poses from Lyndz-Matic. If you haven’t visited her store in Thistle, do it. It’s so much fun to stand on the diner tables and make all Zoolander with the poses.

Miel Mo Good

July 23, 2009

Miel Mo Good

An urban look from Miel Mo. A new release of pocket pants and a tube top. Both come in a multitude of colors and can be mixed and matched to your heart’s content. Either of these pieces can be dressed up or dressed down. I’m still in major casual mode, so I’ve paired the pants and tube top with a t-shirt and trainers. The pants and top feature a sizing script to adjust to anyone’s twins and booty. The prim attachments are a dream to work with and blend effortlessly into each other. High quality work, as always, from Miel Mo.

I seriously can’t get enough of my Hidden Temple t-shirts from Reek. I’ve been wearing the different colors for two weeks now. The green and red velcro trainers are from hoorenbeek. (Yes I’m wearing velcro! *cringe*) Although another thing that makes me cringe is the price of these shoes. Sweet jezus! I’ve noticed hoorenbeek has a lot of unisex shoe goodness. Check ‘em out, but don’t blame me when you can’t make tier because you blew your wad there.

Pig — Skater Girl

July 17, 2009

Pig — Skater Girl

This is my attempt at a skater girl look, although at my RL age, if I actually skate boarded and fell, I’d probably wind up breaking a hip versus sporting the cute little colorful knee band-aid from Reek. *oh hush*

New from Pig is the “Ladies Like Flowers” half cardi in pretty pink. It comes in probably 20 different colors and on all layers. It looks sweet when paired up with plaid capris from Pig. I picked up the graphic T-shirt from Pink Outfitters $50 sale. The tube socks are part of the Urban Life outfit from Acid & Mala. I know you have those sneakers in your inventory from the VIP Hunt. ‘member? Dig ‘em out already.

I’m also in love with Reek’s colorful themes belt. I’m showing the Teenage Mutant turtle pattern. It has all of the old school gamer patterns built in it. And yeah, I’m that old to remember playing the first release of *all* of them.

Photo location is in Anthem. A trolly car turned cafe that has great atmosphere.

Bijou — Born Free

July 9, 2009

Bijou — Born Free

One of the many reasons I love Bijou is because they offer complete outfits. Not only that, they’re provided as separate layers for mixing and match. They offer mucho hand-painted goodness. The one bad thing is that some of the designs can get a little pricey. And now Bijou offers swim wear and amazing evening gowns, which makes my virtual wallet have nothing but moths in it.

I’m wearing Born Free in pink from Bijou. (It’s offered in other colors as well.) It’s a little pink velour shrug that tops a graphic tank. It comes with a pair of snake skin booty shorts that have a hand painted chain belt. It’s a little bit of a tough girl look but the pink sweetens it up.

Choker and bracelet are from Bliensen. Offered in a fat pack. They’re made of weathered metal gears. The hair/hat combo is Alex from Refuge. (I think Refuge’s hair is completely underrated.) Not only can you change the texture of the hat, but you can customize the buttons to your heart’s content.
