Bijou — Born Free

Bijou — Born Free

One of the many reasons I love Bijou is because they offer complete outfits. Not only that, they’re provided as separate layers for mixing and match. They offer mucho hand-painted goodness. The one bad thing is that some of the designs can get a little pricey. And now Bijou offers swim wear and amazing evening gowns, which makes my virtual wallet have nothing but moths in it.

I’m wearing Born Free in pink from Bijou. (It’s offered in other colors as well.) It’s a little pink velour shrug that tops a graphic tank. It comes with a pair of snake skin booty shorts that have a hand painted chain belt. It’s a little bit of a tough girl look but the pink sweetens it up.

Choker and bracelet are from Bliensen. Offered in a fat pack. They’re made of weathered metal gears. The hair/hat combo is Alex from Refuge. (I think Refuge’s hair is completely underrated.) Not only can you change the texture of the hat, but you can customize the buttons to your heart’s content.

Lost Dreams Abbey

Lost Dreams Abbey

An erethreal dress newly released from Estelle Parnall of Lost Dreams. Inspired by Versace, the cut is elegant and uncomplicated, but the feathers that make up the skirt and body make this dress special. Offered in rose, blue and ivory, it’s a dress to be romanced in.

Style Note: I did have a challenge with finding a necklace to compliment as longer necklaces tend to get hidden and lost in the feathers on the bodice. The necklace I chose was from a store I accidentally discovered called Virtual Impressions. Chrissy Ambrose makes gorgeous fancy jewelry. When I want quality diamond pieces, I head there.

Mimikri – Kiku

Mimikri – Kiku Summer

Spring is upon us and so is wedding season. As you know, the grid is always in full bloom with love and romance. (Yeah, present company included.) I get invited to a few weddings and there is always so much to choose from to wear. However, Mimikri has a perfect dress for attending a wedding. A fairly recent release from this designer, it’s offered in four different versions with various soft colors and floral patterns. Each one named after a season.

This sexy dress reminds me a lot of designs from Betsy Johnson with its lingerie-inspired black lace bodice and form-fitting skirt of Asian silk. Yes, this is a system skirt, but I’ve come to terms with my booty-licious booty. Hang on to your hat, I modified my shape. I know what you’re thinking. I know I vowed not to modify but dang it, this dress is just so pretty, and I looked so broad in the beam that I had to do something. My reasoning is that it’s like dieting to fit in to a special dress in real life. So there I have it, “My Shape On A Diet.” I am now one with the system skirt. (Yeah, I’m a slow learner.)

Go to Mimikri ’s shop and see what other goodies that go along with this dress. There’s a  two in one” jacket and coat available that goes along with this shift dress and hip new drape pants that can be combined for a great club look.

A perfect compliment to this dress is jewelry from Eclectica. I am wearing the complete set of green glass jewelry. I apologize that it’s hard to see in the photos. Trust me, pay a visit to this designer and see for yourself the detail and quality she puts in to her jewelry.

Untameable

Untameable

A very sexy release from new designer Jacque Charron that will get you club-ready for this weekend’s parties. Untameable is an outfit that is a bra, a denim corset (with laces in the back) and a sexy leopard-print mini (also comes with a flexi option). She even includes a pair of sexy bikini panties so you can get double-duty in the lingerie department. The outfit is available in red, aqua and purple. I love the way the different textures of the outfit work together.

I’ve paired this with a free furry bolero from Boon (pssst…join the update group) and a fabulous big silver cuff from Yak & Yetti…also free. Actually all of Yak & Yetti’s jewelry is free. Definitely worth a trip to Salzburg to snap up those free bangles and other indian-inspired things.

Wearing another smoky skin from Glance Skins and big falsh eyelashes from Cake that give me a harder-than-normal look. I think it works well with the entire look. I’m ready for the dance floor to shake what the Lindens gave me.

Lost Dreams – Susan Mix

When I saw Lost Dreams’ recent release of a pretty light blue blouse (also available in pink) with a smocked bodice and sheer sleeves, I knew I wanted to pair it with something other than jeans or a denim mini. (That would have been too easy and predictable.) I had bought this adorable unique brown skirt from So Many Styles and was perplexed about what to pair with it. It’s funky in a fun way with it’s oversized drawstring waist and asymetrical hemline. (Although I confess to modifying my ghetto booty to fit properly into it. Oh, if only there were RL sliders.)

I think blue and brown go together like spaghetti and meatballs. The blouse and skirt were a great match And the Soho shoes from Maiterya echo the silhouette from the skirt.

If you haven’t paid a visit to Icon for accessories like purses and necklaces, you have to soon. They’ve got great unique layered necklaces like the one I”m wearing and adorable purses. I love the suede studded bag with its chained strap.

Everyone knows I’m Laqroki’s beeotch and it’s only because it works so well with my shape. However, after seeing so many girls rock the Glance Skin look, I thought I’d give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it worked and I love the blue eye shadow in this Jessica skin.

Eclectica Jewelry

Eclectica Jewelry

New (at least to me) jewelry designer Tiffy Vella of Eclectica has some gorgeous, well-made jewelry designs. As she will tell you, it’s quality handmade prim jewellery, glasses and vintage items. Partially inspired by Art Deco, Arts and Crafts Movement and Art Nouveau, yet still original work conceived in a virtual world.

Below I’m wearing the Jazz Bakelite Set, which would probably be worth a fortune if it were a real life design, dontcha think? The set comes complete with an insanely gorgeous necklace that hangs just right, left and right bangles and beautiful drop earrings (not pictured). One thing I just adore about her jewelry is that it’s all easily resizable with one click of a sizing script. I LOVE that and am starting to see more and more designers use this. Makes custom fitting a breeze.

Wearing a summery/spring dress from So Many Styles. A find in my latest shopping spree there. This dress is silk with a handpainted drop sash and big buttons on the straps. It’s available in three different colors, including a great red. This dress has a Ralph Lauren feel to it.

(Sorry for the big honkin pictures. I wanted to show the detail!)
