Lost Dreams Lizzie Maxi Dress

A great style from the 60s, maxi dresses are hot this summer, especially for us taller girls. If you’re petite, I am sure you’d get lost in it. From Lost Dreams is a pretty new maxi dress with an empire waist in a refreshing lemon. It’s sheer with a large floral print offered in smashing colors of lemon, watermelon and blue. Here I’ve kept the overall look simple by pairing  with simple flip flop sandals from J’s,  and my only jewelry is a bangle from Boon. Hair is a flowy and sexy. The new Minx release from Truth.

Trying this again

Trying this again

Hopefully there’s no egg left on my face. Let’s try this once again.

Anyways, as styled by MYSELF, a great rockabilly dress from Boom capitalizes on old tattoo art in bright cheery color combo of blue and red. It’s got a sheer overlay and a beautiful red sash. It’s my style, and I’m stickin to it!

Digit Darkes – Subliminal

A new release from Digit Darkes is anything but subliminal. When I saw this dress in navy, I knew it had to be mine. I love everything that is navy, especially when it’s sexy, dressy navy. To me navy in the shape of a little black dress can be sexier than a little black dress. Does that make sense?

This dress has  a sexy bra-type top which flows nicely and beautifully into the gown. Both parts of the dress are brought together by a script sizeable black corset-type belt with silver buckles. My only tiny complaint is that both the corset and the gown use chest and spine attachments, so adding in a necklace can take a bit of attachment wizardry.  The bottom of the gown is hemmed in this gorgeous black lace that really adds detail that my photos don’t do justice to.

Callie Cline Appreciation Day

If I could describe my friend caLLie cLine in a word it would be effervescent. She never ceases to amaze me as a person. Her CalGal group is one of the best groups in SL to belong to. She treats her members with surprises, parties and just general silliness. She uses her group to really communicate with her customers and get close to them. If you’re not a member already, do yourself a favor and join! And participating in one of her impromptu Friends conference calls can be a scream.

caLLie is a force to be reckoned with in many facets of SL. From her home goods line to her clothes and underwear line, her designs are as colorful and playful as her personality. It really is a reflection of her. She is hard to keep up with, even just chatting with her. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen someone who types as fast as she does.

When I first joined SL in 2006, caLLie cLine was one of the first stores I discovered and I’ve been faithful ever since. Her designs are funky and flirty and her gowns are always elegant and unique. Her creations have a gift for accentuating and highlighting the beauty that is a woman, even if it is a digitized virtual representation of a woman. caLLie totally gets that.

Just this past week, she made a whole group of hardworking SL individuals feel special by hosting Blogger Appreciation Week. I am sure it was such a huge effort to coordinate and keep on top of things, and I know she just collapsed on Sunday from all the craziness. I thank her for making our group feel appreciated. She does many things to help promote a sense of community where sometimes bloggers can feel a bit of disparity among ourselves. caLLie has shown that most of us have a common thread and, in the end, we’re all just people.

I also want to thank caLLie for helping make me beautiful in my Second Life. I think she is a special person behind those pixels and I treasure our friendship.

Much love to you, caLLie, and thank you for being you, and for everything you do. <3

Lidz

Lidz

I’m a sport girl. Always have been, always will be. I’ve noticed an absence of good ball caps that represent in SL. My good friend Max Rhiano just opened a new shop called Lidz in New York City. In his inaugural release, he’s offering all major league baseball teams ball caps. And a steal at $100L Below I’m not only representing my hometown team south side, but I’m styling as well! The hats come as a default chin attachment, and can be modded to fit your dome versus the other way around. Also, try flipping it around backwards for a different look.

For the first time in my Second Life, I participated in the VIP Grid Hunt and enjoyed it. I discovered some talent that is new to me. I hunted a great little urban outfit by Acid & Mala Creations. I loved it so much, that I went back the next day and picked up this cute city look. The outfit comes with track jacket, pants, belt and tube socks (not pictured). A&M has scripted prim sizing in all of their attachments. (Yay!) The belt, which is just adorable, even has a chain with some fun details hanging from it. I’ve paired it up with a newly released bold graphic blue t-shirt from Naive. Also VIP hunted are my sneakers from Shinji Accessories.

Here are some tips for getting the perfect hat hair (courtesy of Couture Chapeau):

Fab Pony -Jacqueline

Sexy chic cocktail dress from Fab Pony will get you ready for those upcoming summer cocktail parties. This sleeveless number is inspired by Grecian drapes and comes with the super (script sizeable) sleek belt. It is simple in its design, but very effective at cutting a chic figure.

It’s available in 7 different colors, including this yummy purple color pictured below. This dress does utilize the system skirt, but not in the traditional sense. It’s used more as a front panel.

WigWamBam – Cherry

WigWamBam – Cherry

A transitional look from me today. Joodle Fadoodle of WigWamBam gives us some springtime pretties that include these jeans. Available in both cherry (shown) and super-cute blue. Yet another designer who cares about our wallets, For $100L you get two lengths capri and long, both with prim cuffs. Yay!

I love the hand-painted stitching and buttons on the waist. The stitching is not only on the front, but on the back, too. And the low-rise makes them sexy. I could easily pair these pants up with a provocative t-shirt or one-shoulder shirt for a club look. I’ve matched it up with a fresh cardigan, tank and ruffled blouse from Pink Outfitters. The sleeveless white ruffle tank with it’s prim ruffles is a new release from Pink and they’re also a steal and come in half-dozen colors.

I’m trying to branch out with skins a bit more. I’m wearing Milk Motion’s Ninon skin. I really like the natural lips and freckles that this skin offers. It is a very different look from my normal skin. I am always amazed how different a skin can make you look.

New from Naive

May 6, 2009

New From Naive

New from Leah McCullough of Naive is this adorable tank dress. Made with summery stripes and a great length, you can wear this with anything. Here, I’ve dressed it up with super-high heels and my favorite leather belt from Coco. (If I could marry that belt, I would.) I can also kick it back with some sweet tennis mules. This dress is versatility at its finest. Want to know the best part? When you buy this dress, you get two for the price of one, and it’s only $100L. The other version that comes with it is a darker version of the same dress. Can you stand it? Thank you, Naive for giving us fashionitas a break on our virtual wallets.

I am also rocking the free Sally heels from Pixel Fashions. Go grab them while they last. (I hope they’re still there.) They’re near the new releases. They’re super-cute AND free. Imagine that!

The Vesper style from Truth keeps the look cool for virtual sultry days. If you have time, take a visit to the collection of sims called Kijiji (“The Village”). There are some great public beaches and the village and scenery are just charming. It’s a great place to take a date and get away from the crowd, as it tends to be spread out and quiet.

Steampunk Lite

May 5, 2009

Steampunk Lite

I’ve always been attracted to the steampunk look. And what I like about it, is that it’s completely open to personal interpretation. To me, I’ve always thought it was a blend of old and future things and goggles. Worldwide Industries’ dirty roped skirt demonstrates that cobbled-together look. A charming representation of scraps of funky material, including newspaper, held together with safety pins and rope and a little bit of tulle netting.

I know a lot of people think WWI is hoochie wear, and granted, there is a fair share of it. But I’ve learned to become one with my inner hooch and embrace it. There’s a time and place for hoochie. WWI has helped me do that. I love their socks and their bikinis. I also think their re hair designs are completely underrated as well. I have a few styles that I adore .

I’ve paired up the dirty rope skirt with Gypsy Soul’s summer hoodie halter. I know I’ve posted it before, but I find myself going back to it for mixing. Also, check out the fun bottle top necklace from Bliensen.

And of course, steampunk to me is goggles and old leather. From Magika, a hair store I’ve been recently introduced to, comes this adorable leather cap plus goggles plus bunned hair.

Friday Look

May 1, 2009

Friday Look

Back to our regularly scheduled program. I downloaded the 1.22 client and all is well again with skin. Crisis averted.

Here’s another find on my shopping outing at Coco Designs. A great cropped bomber jacket. It is available on the jacket layer with chest attachment for the body and collar and sleeve attachments. I believe it comes in at least two other colors. Here I’ve paired it with a fancy little t-shirt from Emery (I love Emery for t-shirts.) and some Bermuda shorts from LeLutka. The shorts have these prim pocket attachments that give a modern look. Refuge’s circle leather black belt compliment the grommet detail on the shorts’ legs.

To give the outfit some color, I’m carrying a purpley-blue bag from LeLutka. I like the organic touches of the wooden attachments and leather strap. Finally, finishing off the look with a sleek hair cut from Exile. I’m ready for Friday night!
