Skins are hosed

Volare’s brow is furrowed for a good reason. Downloaded the new client and lookie, my skin is done broke (Glance skin pictured above. White rings around eyes courtesy of Linden developers). Don’t even get me started on what happens to poor Starley’s skins.

Linden Labs so thoughtfully changed the order of alpha layers so the eyebrow and makeup is on TOP instead of underneath. And therefore breaking many content creator’s items. Who thought this was a good idea? :-/

Yes, this will happen to you, eventually. That skin you paid $$ for will look like hell.

EDIT: Thanks to Allegory Malaprop, I was informed that the issue is being fixed. I went back and downloaded the 1.22 client and all is well for the moment. (See comments for her comment regarding the issue.)

I went shopping at Coco Designs the other night and was excited about my finds. Like this cardigan that really appears more like a sweet floral blouse to me. The cool thing about this shirt is that it’s on the jacket layer and the the back and waist are prims as well as the sleeves. It hangs just perfectly and fit my shape to a tee. Gorgeous on. Trust me, there’s no prim wonkiness!

You can pair this with everything from a a bikini top (try The Closet’s crocheted one) and a pair of shorts, to a long embroidered skirt from The Closet. The cardigan is available in 4 different colors, including black and white. The white is kind of lacy and I find myself reaching for it time and time.

Here I’ve paired it with my old stand-by scrubbed mini in rose from Sand Shack Couture. The scrubbed minis are a couple years old, but they are a staple in my closet. A fat-pack of colors is available.

I love these plaid suspender shorts from Fab.Pony. They’re available in at least 3 colors and I wear them a lot. I find I can get some different looks with them. In the past I’ve paired it with a crop top for clubbing, but here I’ve paired it with a timeless classic sheer beige shirt from MichaMi. I love her things for layering and mixing. I know I wore these sock suspenders from Pig yesterday, but hell, I just think they work super here with this look. So just bear with me, ok?

Yesterday, my friend Mercedes and I were talking about how we jack (inspect) what others are wearing when it comes to hair and other attachments. She was recounting about how she got busted trying to find out what hair style a girl was. It turned out it was the Europa style from Cake. I said, “I think I have that in my Inventory.” There’s a shock. Sure enough, back from when Volare was a blond. It’s very Debbie Harry and works with this look. It’s fun to resurrect stuff from your inventory, isn’t it?

Another rocker chick look today this time wearing quirky little gray sweater dress from Wig Wam Bam. It features a fun graphic of a magenta pin-up lovely on the chest. I love the asymmetrical shoulders and curve-hugging fit. You could pair this dress with the plaid pink funky leggings that are included (not pictured), or boots.

I fully admit that sometimes I’m a shitty blogger. I go in stages where I live in a vacuum and don’t see a lot of things that come out. I mean, you can only belong to so many groups and keep on top of things. (Although any new hair from Truth is a no-brainer for me.) I originally TP’d into Refuge to try and find some jewelry when I spotted that not only had the shopping build completely changed, but there was super-cute hair, too. I bet you know about this little pig-tailed style with the hat a long time ago. Well, it’s new to me and I adore it. It’s got texture-changes of 12 different colors. If you can’t find a color you like in that allotment, you have bigger problems.

I saw my friend Gigi wearing this jean jacket the other night and wanted to steal it straight off of her. It’s from Aoharu and comes in a multitude of colors. I couldn’t get past the pink, though. It also has a long-sleeve and short-sleeve option and the collar is layer friendly with collar and spine attachment points. Also, it took minimal adjusting for the twins not to poke through the sides, too. Always a bonus in my book. \o/

I went for a rocker look using the top of a dress from Emery and super-textured white satin pants from Pixel Fashions. I’ve been having a hard time changing the newer Felicity hair from ETD as well. There’s a guitar poking outta my pants.

An erethreal dress newly released from Estelle Parnall of Lost Dreams. Inspired by Versace, the cut is elegant and uncomplicated, but the feathers that make up the skirt and body make this dress special. Offered in rose, blue and ivory, it’s a dress to be romanced in.

Style Note: I did have a challenge with finding a necklace to compliment as longer necklaces tend to get hidden and lost in the feathers on the bodice. The necklace I chose was from a store I accidentally discovered called Virtual Impressions. Chrissy Ambrose makes gorgeous fancy jewelry. When I want quality diamond pieces, I head there.

I hope you didn’t miss me too much. I was out all week at this real life soul-sucking thing called jury duty. When I got home in the evening, the last thing I wanted to think about was fashion. I started feeling refreshed when I saw Solitude Hermit of Gypsy Soul’s new release of a summer hoodie. (I’d love to have something like this in my real life wardrobe.)

It’s an adorable halter that has a sculptie hoodie to it. It comes in three different colors, steel, pine and wine. It also comes with an optional sculpty front pocket and flexi draw strings. It has a great nubby texture to it and a nice little special detail of shoulder buttons. This hoodie has lots of options and possibilities for my wardrobe. Solitude thoughtfully provides options on many different layers.

Paired up with some funky $90L cargo pants from F.A.T. Designz and my favorite porn star gym shoes, it’s a great urban jungle look. These cargos have a fun, gritty skull graphic on the leg and rear-end, as well as a painted belt. As I’ve been out in the clubs, I’ve noticed that this hair style with the camo hat from Truth is very popular. It’s so cute, I can see why!

Sometimes for a blogger, I don’t get out much, and sometimes I rely a little too much on word-of-mouth. I received a group notice the other day and hopped down to the LM provided. While wandering, the name of a store caught my eye, Fab Pony. Hey, who doesn’t want a fab pony?! Looking at the fun clothes hanging, I got so excited by what I saw. And I’m sure you’re thinking to yourself, “Heidi, what rock have you been living under?” Yeah, I know, sometimes I’m a little slow to catch up.

I think I bought almost the entire store. The sequin shorts below just make me so happy. I’m a crow, I love everything shiny and dangly. The shorts are provided in three different fat packs of 5. One fat pack has pink, gold, black and the other fat pack has darker colors of gunmetal. All a steal at $375 for the lot!

I paired it with Fab Pony’s ballet top. They offer it in more colors than you shake a pixel at. The cool thing about it is that close-up, the material is merled (not sure if that’s even the right descriptor), but let’s just say the texture is more complex. Pay Fab Pony a visit. Spring is upon us and so is wedding season. As you know, the grid is always in full bloom with love and romance. (Yeah, present company included.) I get invited to a few weddings and there is always so much to choose from to wear. However, Mimikri has a perfect dress for attending a wedding. A fairly recent release from this designer, it’s offered in four different versions with various soft colors and floral patterns. Each one named after a season.

This sexy dress reminds me a lot of designs from Betsy Johnson with its lingerie-inspired black lace bodice and form-fitting skirt of Asian silk. Yes, this is a system skirt, but I’ve come to terms with my booty-licious booty. Hang on to your hat, I modified my shape. I know what you’re thinking. I know I vowed not to modify but dang it, this dress is just so pretty, and I looked so broad in the beam that I had to do something. My reasoning is that it’s like dieting to fit in to a special dress in real life. So there I have it, “My Shape On A Diet.” I am now one with the system skirt. (Yeah, I’m a slow learner.)

Go to Mimikri ’s shop and see what other goodies that go along with this dress. There’s a  two in one” jacket and coat available that goes along with this shift dress and hip new drape pants that can be combined for a great club look.

I apologize for missing in action for the past few days. You ever get in a funk? I think I’m in a fashion funk. I’ve been on the grid and have been completely uninspired lately. From exploring to fashion, each time I log on, I barely have had the energy to change clothes. Not even enough to go shopping. I know, it’s that bad. I’m hoping to snap out of it soon, and I’m sure I will.

These pictures were taken before the funk hit. On a recent shopping spree at So Many Styles, I picked up this beautiful brown and gold skirt with it’s funky spring-like waist band of daisies and delicate netted hemline. I’ve come to the conclusion that you can pair Cupcake’s new Squiggle tank with just about anything and look smashing. I’m also loving Truth’s new style. I’m wearing it without the flower. Although I have noticed with this particular style that on Mid graphic settings, my skull pokes through on the top, but doesn’t happen on Ultra settings. Kind of frustrating if you ask me. But a graceful style nonetheless.

Help! I need some inspiration!
