Savvy Avvy - Chesstress Coat

November 26, 2007

I can’t get over how chic and versatile this teal coat from Savvy Avyy is. For $350L it includes a jacket layer with or without the belt as well as the hoody and cuffs with or without fur. The last picture in the series shows it without the belt and sans white fur. The texture is very woolly and soft that it makes me want to nestle down in it and brace myself against the cold winds in my sim. It’s still snowing!

I’ve paired it with white metallic tights from Armidi, sculptie black leather boots from Redgrave, and <3 Cupcake’s versatile white lacy shirt, but the star of this outfit is still the Chesstress coat. Who says you can’t wear white in the winter?!

Also, I’m highlighting a new skin from RaC. Shown in Lucia 05. I cringed when I hit the “Buy” button and plunked down $4,000L, but dang, sister, you get 6 different looks. Although some would argue that only the lips change, but still, this skin is magnificent, in my opinion. I especially adore the nude matte lips in the Lucia series. While I was at RaC going broke, I had to check out their hair and wasn’t disappointed. I’m having a hard time taking off the Biscuit style.

Rocky Mountain High

November 21, 2007

It’s officially winter in my Sim. There is snow on the ground and it’s snowing like mad. This midwestern girl loves it, so I feel the need to dress appropriately. I found the cutest and the most practical little puffy ski vest from Liquid Velvet Studios (LVS). Ravenlynn offers it for both guys and girls in 5 great colors, including black. I adore the “fairway green,” as I like to call it, that’s pictured. It’s called the Colorado Puff Vest. It comes in both a long version and a shorter version. The long is shown here. The vest are a little hard to find in the store because they’re in a wall vendor coupled with men’s things. Here are the coordinates: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cassiopeia Isle/176/5/22/ LVS &CO, Cassiopeia Isle. That should plunk you right down in front of it.

I’ve paired it up with Armidi’s yummy cashmere turtleneck in black. Actually I think the sweater was meant for men, but they’re perfect and looks deliciously soft as you can expect. I’m also wearing Armidi jeans in industrial. They are the capris, which come with the jeans. To finish are the cute faux Uggs called Ughs from Jeepers Creepers in charcoal and a pair of knee socks from Shiny Things just cause my capris were a touch too short.

The look is for the lady who not only hits the hippest parties on the grid, but also knows how to be a lady. The silver stitching on both the day bag and the jacket shows Nyla Cheeky’s attention to detail, as well as the beautiful buckles highlighted on the bag, jacket and the hat. The cut on the jacket is nipped in at the waist with buckled, bell 3/4 sleeves and a stand-up collar. The scripted mini behaves like a dream as well. I’m wearing a sophisticated Sofia hair style from ETD, but I could easily see a playful pigtailed look working here, too.

This look is new from talented Nyla Cheeky for her ready to wear line. It is the coco haute sexy schoolgirl. Nyla plays with textures in this polished sexy schoolgirl look. The package has the whole look, including two jackets one with and one without blouse, a flexi pleated skirt with sit scripts, knee high lace socks come with sit script in the lace frill as well. The hat, mary jane buckled pumps and handbag are all included. Shoes come with and without sound. Available in 8 colours , 1500 L.

I’m wearing Launa Fauna’s amazing new Chai skin in Honey Torrid and Fancy Schmancy’s La Croix diamond dog collar.

New from Frangipani Designs

November 13, 2007

New from Frangipani Designs is the Jasmine dress which has an urban look and feel to it. This Asian motif dress is available in 4 colors. I’m wearing it in Blue Lagoon. The other 3 colors are part of a fabulous fall pallette, which includes burnt orange and brown. It has a flexi sash as well done in bronze that matches the trim on the dress. You could wear this dress without tights and a pair of heels, but I paired it with bronze metallic tights from Armidi Ltd and Redgrave’s fabulous scupltie boots in smoke leather.  The hair is Lannah from ETD in Ash Burnt. I think the pieceiness (is that a word?) of the hair style gives the look a modern pop and balances the dress and vintage-feel of the full-prim necklace from Swallowtail.

I’ve also included a close-up of my face because I’m sporting Launa Fauna’s new skin. I’m such a skin snob and this skin is absolute freckled perfection. The skin comes in the non-freckled variety as well. I have on the “Cole” skin in honey because damn it, if I can’t have a tan in RL, I’m going to have one in SL. What I love most about the Cole skin is its blush. It gives me that fresh, out-doors look that I adore.

Fall Light

November 2, 2007

Trying to lighten up the fall palette by wearing this happy teal and rose asian-inspired top by Tuli and pairing it with a great mid-thigh skirt by Slink!. The SLink! mid-thigh skirts are available in a fat pack of many colors. I recommend spending those lindens to get it. It’s a versatile basic skirt. The texture on the Tuli top is quilted, especially on the obi belt. This top from Tuli is a steal at $150, you get three different color combos. To warm up the whole look and make it more fall-like, I added Persona’s woolen tights in Pink. Finishing it up with Armidi Gisaci Vidalia PeepToe pumps in Fui Fui Turquoise.

Jewelry is pretty with Last Call Covet’s delicate Winn diamond necklace, Ame True’s Tendenza Floreale bracelet in multi color. These bracelets come in a many different colors and I feel like I’m always wearing one of them. I’m also wearing a pair of unreleased Ame True beautiful gold hoops earrings. I am a die-hard Celestial Skins fan, but I wanted to change it up a little bit. So I hopped on over to Tete a Pied and picked up the Vivant Bronze Basic Pink 3. I have had a hard time removing this pretty number of skin. I’m including a close-up just so you can see how pretty it is!
